Questions we are asked
Do I need a chimney for my fireplace or stove?
Yes, every wood or pellet stove requires a flue gas path. It can be connected to an existing chimney (after checking its passability and duct dimensions), or a new stainless steel or system chimney can be installed. We will assess this during the survey.
Who carries out flue gas path inspections and do I need one?
Before putting a new flue into operation and when replacing an appliance, Decree 34/2016 Coll. Requires an inspection carried out by a certified flue inspector. We will arrange this as part of the job and hand over the inspection report. Subsequent checks and cleaning are usually carried out once a year.
How long does building a fireplace take?
Installation of fireplace stoves including the flue usually takes one day. A custom-built fireplace with a surround typically requires two to five working days depending on the scope, plus technical pauses before the first lighting.
Is a fireplace suitable for a low-energy house?
Yes, but with consideration: it requires an external supply of combustion air and lower output to avoid overheating. Often a heat storage fireplace or stove that releases heat slowly is better. We will advise based on the house project.
Fireplace stove or fireplace with an insert?
Stoves are ready-made products installed within a day and can be relocated. A fireplace with an insert is built to fit the room, can be combined with thermal storage or warm air distribution, and forms a permanent part of the interior. The choice depends on the house, budget, and how often you heat.
Do you also install outside Prague?
Yes, we work throughout the country with vetted masonry teams in individual regions. The survey and design will take place at your home.
