How it works: from surveying to the inspection report

Five steps, no surprises. First the chimney and room, then the design with a budget, only then construction. At the end you have an inspection report and know how to operate your heating system.

1. On-site survey at your home

A stove installer from your region will visit. They will measure the room, inspect the chimney (flue, draft, condition), floor and ceiling, and ask about heat recovery, extractor hoods and your preferred heating method. Free of charge and without obligation.

2. Design and quotation

You will receive a proposal specifying the type (air-heating, accumulator, water-based, stove), the specific insert or stove, the cladding material and an itemised estimate. The price is final; any additional work is agreed in advance and in writing.

3. Chimney and preparation

Depending on the chimney condition: inspection and cleaning, lining with a stainless steel liner, or construction of a new stainless steel or system chimney. Penetrations, air supply and floor protection will be prepared. We arrange all chimney sweep work; for chimneys and their inspections we also refer to our websites. kominice-tereza.cz a revize-komin.cz.

4. Installation or construction

Stoves with flue installed in one day. Custom fireplaces or tiled stoves are built on site, typically within two to seven working days, including floor protection and dust extraction. For heat exchangers, the tank and system are connected simultaneously.

5. Flue gas path inspection and first firing

Before commissioning, the flue inspection technician will carry out an inspection in accordance with Decree No. 34/2016 Coll. And issue an inspection report which you will receive. We will then light the fire for the first time together, demonstrate air regulation, explain the correct wood to use, and guide you through the gradual drying of the surround.

What the regulation says about inspections

  • Inspection: before putting a new flue into operation, after structural modification of the chimney, when changing fuel, upon replacement of the appliance and after a chimney fire.
  • Inspection and cleaning. For solid fuel heating appliances, this is generally required once a year; for seasonal operation, in accordance with the decree. You may clean them yourself, but the inspection must be carried out by an authorised chimney sweep.
  • Report. You will receive a written report for both the inspection and control, which is required by insurance companies and fire departments.

Summary for guidance only, not legal advice. Specific deadlines will be confirmed during your installation.
